Every year on the 29th April, the world celebrates International Dance Day or World Dance Day. Brands, influencers, content creators, and individuals celebrate this day by dancing their hearts away and creating memorable videos on social media. Social Media is packed with some thoughtful campaigns, collaborations and amazing performances for this day.
Why is International Dance Day celebrated?
April 29 is the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), the creator of modern ballet. The day is a message to everyone in the world to revel in the art form of dance – any form of dance. The intention of the International Dance Day Message is to celebrate dance, across all political, cultural and ethnic barriers, and bring people together with a common language – dance.
